Breton Octosyllabic Couplets

Breton Octosyllabic Couplets are couplets eight syllables long. They end rhyme and have internal rhymes in each line between syllable four and seven.

steps in between Halloween song
trips an unwary very long

kind of ghostly and mostly bright
Jack-O-Lantern who in turn might

wish for candy too and he may
want a goodnight kiss and might say

“thank you, be well, have a swell eve”
and bite your shoe just as you leave
