Definitional Poem

A definitional Poem is a simple exercise. You take a short poem you have written, free verse or any form, and you replace all the meaningful words with their dictionary definitions and hopefully it will lead to something interesting.

they were testing the intercom
in the wrong room
I asked, “God, is that you?”
one of them said, “yes”
I told him
if he were really God
he would know what room I was in
at which point
I was struck by lightning

Now, the version after dictionary.com and a few minor adjustments to make it fit:

they were using a means of trial on the microphone and receiver of an intercommunications system
in the not in accordance with what is morally right or good portion of space within a building or other structure, separated by walls or partitions from other parts
I asked, “one Supreme Being, the creator and ruler of the universe, is that you?”
one of them used an adverb to express affirmation or assent or to mark the addition of something emphasizing and amplifying a previous statement
I gave an account or narrative of:
if he were really the one Supreme Being, the creator and ruler of the universe
he would perceive or understand as fact or truth which portion of space within a building or other structure, separated by walls or partitions from other parts I was in
at which point
I was driven as if to cause impact by a brilliant electric spark discharge in the atmosphere, occurring within a thundercloud, between clouds, or between a cloud and the ground
