Qasidah in Basit Meter

Qasidah in Basit Meter is an Arabic form composed in lines of 28 syllables in two or more stanzas of two lines apiece. Each line is divided into 14 syllables each. The middle fourteenth syllable rhymes in the first two lines and all lines end rhyme (so if broken into fourteen syllable lines it would be an A,B,A,B end thyme scheme). The meter for fourteen syllables is (“-`) (`-`) (“-`) (`-`) and it repeats as such.

red spotted and clover-ish unfortunate its so rare
though it is uncanny and almost a shame its unfare
