Renga

Renga are usually written by more than one person, but they can be written by a single poet as well. Renga are composed of alternating stanzas of 5, 7, 5, and 7, 7, onji or syllables. The 7, 7, stanzas link the surrounding stanzas together in an indirect way. They are basically linked Haiku.

kindness is a shrine
on the shores of non-being
the only refuge

turtle in her bright green shell
hiding, what is she missing?
